５世紀はゲルマン人の大移動が始まり、476年に西ローマ帝国を滅ぼす。

481年には、ゲルマン民族の一部族であったフランク族のクローヴィスが即位し、北イタリアからフランスにかけて支配した。

彼はカトリックに改宗し、支持を広げた。

いわゆるフランク王国の誕生である。

しかし、この時のヨーロッパは他のゲルマン人による王国が乱立している状態だ。

一方、中国は南北朝時代。

日本では478年に雄略天皇が南朝の宋に朝貢し、朝鮮経営を有利に進めようとした。

興亡の激しい時代である。
