日本とのつながり45〜世界観〜

岩手県南部平泉はかつて浄土の都だった。

金と馬が産出されるこの地は、大きな経済力を誇り、かつては京都に比肩しうる街であった。

京都の平等院鳳凰堂を模した阿弥陀堂や浄土式庭園も建設され、極楽浄土の世界を現出していた。

しかし、後の災禍でほとんどの建物が焼失してしまった。

一方、インド中西部に位置するエローラーの石窟寺院も卓越した世界観を生み出している。

この寺院群の中でも、圧巻はヒンドゥー教のカイラーサ寺院である。

この寺院は一つの黒光する岩から、鑿と槌のみで彫られた「石彫寺院」である。

その表現力は、現在でも訪れる人々を魅了する。

宗教の生み出す世界観は驚異的な場所を生み出す。

Connection with Japan 45〜View of the world〜

 Hiraizumi located in the south of Iwate prefecture was once the capital of the Pure Land.

 This area where gold and horses are produced boasts great economic power and was once a city comparable to Kyoto.

 The Amida-do and Jodo-style gardens, which imitate the Byodoin phoenix temple in Kyoto, were also constructed and the world of paradise was revealed.

 However, most of the buildings were destroyed in the war.

 On the other hand, the Ellora cave temples located in the Midwestern part of India also create an outstanding view of the world.

 Among the temples, the highlight is the Hindu Kailasa Temple.

 This temple is a "stone carving temple" carved with only a chisel and a mallet from one black rock.

 Its expressive power still attracts visitors.

 The worldview created by religion creates an amazing place.
