日本とのつながり2〜富士山〜

富士山は日本だけでなく世界でも有名で、世界遺産にも登録されている山である。

しかし、富士山が自然遺産としてではなく、文化遺産として登録されていることを知っているだろうか。

意外に思う人も多いかもしれない。
富士山は「信仰の対象と芸術の源泉」として日本人の文化的な象徴の価値が認められて世界遺産に登録された。

登拝（とはい）という言葉すらある。
登拝とは富士山自体を御神体として、拝みながら登山することをいう。

江戸時代には富士講といって組織的な登拝が行われたり、葛飾北斎に浮世絵としても描かれました。

さて、なぜ自然遺産ではないのだろうか。
日本一高い山であり、自然の豊かさが評価されてもおかしくはないと思う人は多いはず。

実は、世界には富士山のような美しい円錐のコニーデ型の山が他にも存在するのです。

たとえばチリ中南部にあるオソルノ山。
富士さんの周囲に湖があるように、この山にもジャンキウエ湖があります。
標高は2652m と富士山よりは低い。

写真を見てみると、瓜二つといってもいいほどよく似ている。

富士山は美しい山だが、世界を見渡すと似た山が見つかり、少し寂しい気持ちがするとともに、世界の自然を見る楽しさとも出会える。

Connection with Japan 2-Mt. Fuji-

Mt. Fuji is famous not only in Japan but also in the world, and is a registered World Heritage Site.

But do you know that Mt. Fuji is registered as a cultural heritage, not as a natural heritage?

Many people may be surprised.
Mt. Fuji has been registered as a World Heritage Site as a "object of religion and a source of art", recognizing the value of the Japanese cultural symbol.

There is even the word “Tohai”.
“Tohai” means climbing while worshiping Mt. Fuji itself as a sacred body.

In the Edo period, there was a systematic worship called Fuji-ko, and it was also depicted as an ukiyo-e on Katsushika Hokusai.

Well, why not a natural heritage?
It is the highest mountain in Japan, and many people think that it is not strange that the richness of nature is valued.

In fact, there are other beautiful cone-shaped cones like Mt. Fuji in the world.

For example, Mount Osorno in central and southern Chile.
Just as there is a lake around Ms. Fuji, this mountain also has Lake Jankiwe.
The altitude is 2652m, which is lower than Mt. Fuji.

Looking at the picture, it looks like two melons.

Mt. Fuji is a beautiful mountain, but when you look around the world, you can find a similar mountain and feel a little lonely. You can also enjoy the pleasure of seeing the nature of the world.
