日本とのつながり6〜流通網〜

日清戦争で日本が勝利し、下関条約で清国は4港を開港した。
この4港の中に重慶や沙市といった都市が含まれていた。

学生の時は特に気にしていなかったが、社会人になってどちらの都市も内陸に位置していることが気になった。

「こんな内陸の都市に港があるのか？」

この2つの都市は長江沿岸に位置している。
長江は日本の河川とはスケールが違う。

中国人が瀬戸内海を見た時に、「日本にも大きな川があるじゃないか」と言ったという話を聞いたことがある。

長江は中国の流通の大動脈として機能してきた。
そして、その巨大さゆえに沿岸都市は立派な港として機能する。
それがどれほど、中国の内陸奥深くに位置していても、だ。

日本でも河川流通網によって、都市に重くて大量の荷物を運ぶことができた。
たとえば、利根川は江戸時代初期に東遷事業が行われ、本流が千葉県の銚子を通り、太平洋に注ぐ。

この利根川や江戸川水運によって、中継都市であった野田や流山は地場産業が発展して、賑わいを生み出した。

やはりどちらの町も内陸にある。

この河川による流通網は人類発展における一つのパターンである。
地図を見てみると、世界のどこでも大きな河川の沿岸には大きな都市があるはずだ。

# Connection with Japan 6 ~ Distribution Network ~
Japan won the Sino-Japanese War, and under the Shimonoseki Treaty, Qingguo opened four ports.
Chongqing and Sha City were included in these four ports.

I didn't particularly care when I was a student, but as a member of society, I became aware that both cities were located inland.

"Is there a port in such an inland city?"

The two cities are located along the Yangtze River.
The Yangtze River has a different scale than Japanese rivers.

I have heard that when the Chinese saw the Seto Inland Sea, they said, "Isn't there a big river in Japan?"

The Yangtze River has functioned as the main distribution artery in China.
And because of its huge size, coastal cities function as fine ports.
No matter how deep it is located inland China.

Even in Japan, the river distribution network enabled us to carry heavy and large amounts of luggage to cities.
For example, the Tone River has a moving the east project in the early Edo period, and the main stream passes through the Choshi of Chiba Prefecture and flows into the Pacific Ocean.

With the Tone River and Edo River water transportation, the local cities of Noda and Nagareyama, which were transit cities, developed and became a bustling event.

After all, both towns are inland.

The distribution network by this river is one of the patterns in human development.
Looking at the map, there should be a big city on the coast of a large river anywhere in the world.
